We welcome new interns in cohorts throughout the year. Please sign up for our mailing list and we will contact you when we are ready to begin onboarding for our next training session!
Our call center answered over 167,000 calls in 2021 and could not provide these services without the generous commitment from our interns. Get more info about our Crisis Lines here.
Crisis Line Intern Positions
Crisis Line interns answer calls in our Portland-based call center.
Each intern responds to calls from various helplines with emphasis on suicide & substance prevention, including lines focused on the wellbeing of youth, military & senior populations.
Crisis Line interns complete professional training and serve the lines for a minimum of 6 months, usually 12-16 hours per week. Our organization offers field supervision from qualified employees, primarily for BSW & MSW students. Our interns come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. They have an empathetic and non-judgmental attitude, emotional intelligence, and the ability to make a long-term commitment.
