Latine Community Conversations on Mental Health

We create safe spaces for Latine community members to learn, share, and heal.

Latine communities face unique challenges when it comes to mental health, from stigma and cultural misconceptions to barriers in accessing resources. Traditional mental health services may not always feel welcoming, accessible, or aligned with cultural values.

That’s why Raíces de Bienestar, in collaboration with Lines for Life and other community partners, is hosting charlas—Spanish-language community conversations on mental health.

Charlas provide a culturally affirming space for learning, discussion, and emotional support.

Bringing Mental Health Support to Latine Communities

Through free, Spanish-language charlas, trained bilingual and bicultural facilitators—including mental health professionals, promotores de salud, and community leaders—guide participants through meaningful discussions about mental well-being.

Charlas are held in person and virtually, offering a safe, structured, and culturally aligned space where participants can:

  • Learn and practice skills to support their emotional well-being.
  • Gain tools to help loved ones navigate mental health challenges.
  • Feel empowered to seek mental health support when needed.
  • Access resources that are culturally specific to their community.

By fostering open conversations in a trusted, culturally relevant environment, Latine community members are breaking down stigma, strengthening resilience, and building pathways to healing.

How Charlas Make a Difference

These conversations are transforming lives. After participating in a charla, attendees reported:

  • 100% gained mental health knowledge and learned how to support themselves or others.
  • 83% said the charla helped them rethink mental health misconceptions.
  • 100% discovered mental health resources available in their community.
  • 90% learned how to support a loved one experiencing a mental health challenge.
