The recent fatal shooting at Reynolds High School in Troutdale has left the community shook up and teens feeling like the bottom has fallen out of their world.
It’s yet another reason the YouthLine is available. Through texts and phone calls, teens can make contact with highly trained teens who can help them navigate their emotions. The youth crisis intervention specialists listen carefully without judging, and actively engage the caller in a conversation about what is troubling them.
The YouthLine, a free service of Lines for Life, is a great source for middle and high school youth to sort out their challenges in a safe and acceptiing environment. Possible topics include mental health, self-image, the effects of being bullied, self-harm and even thoughts of suicide.
If you’d like to reach out to someone your age who will listen and not judge and keep the conversation to themselves, contact the YouthLine: By phone at 1-(877) 968-8491 or by texting teen2teen to 839863.
